Please ensure that you have read the following terms and conditions carefully before ordering, they set out what you can expect from us and the terms on which you agree to be bound to when you place your order with G & J Barron.
BECOMING A CUSTOMER
To place an order with us, you must be over 18 years of age and have a credit or debit card acceptable to us in your name.
We reserve the right to decline any order or to suspend your Account with us at our discretion.
Our Terms and Conditions will apply when you place your order.
If you wish, you may set up an online account with us to make each visit to our website easier. If you do this, you will be given a user name and a password to use each time you place an order with us.
You are responsible for all activity on your account. You should ensure that your username and password are known only to you and that access to your computer is restricted to prevent any unauthorised use of your account.
Please ensure that the information you provide us with is correct and up to date and notify us as soon as possible of any changes.
Once you have placed an order on our website, we will confirm your order in two ways. Firstly, by sending an email to the address you have provided and secondly by telephoning you on the number you have provided. This email will list all products you have ordered, the price and delivery details, if appropriate. This is not an acceptance by us. A legally binding contract will only arise once you have received your goods.
If you do not receive a confirmation telephone call from us within 5 working days the onus is on you to contact us to confirm your order. We will make every effort to contact you, but calls are not always answered, and we like to speak to you in person to ensure your order is correct.
This year we are taking payments for orders in advance of collection. Payment can be taken on our website or via telephone if ordering by telephone. Email orders and orders placed at the farm will also require payment when your order is confirmed.
Advanced payment is preferred to improve efficiency at collection times and increase the likelihood of our customers being able to use contactless payments for the balance of their purchases. (Current limit for contactless is £45).
AMENDING OR CANCELLING THE CONTRACT
Once you have placed an order and paid, we regret that due to the very short timescales in processing fresh meat orders, you cannot cancel or amend your order once it has been placed unless specifically agreed by ourselves. Any cancellation must be sent to us at firstname.lastname@example.org or via telephone on 01206 210383 no later than our cut-off date which is 10th December 2020.
Collection is from our seasonal farm shop at Pattocks Farm, Chappel, Colchester Essex. CO6 2EG.
The shop will be stocked with a full range of all the produce you require for your Christmas meal. A one-way system will be in place in the shop and a strict number of people will be allowed in the shop at a time. Sanitiser will be available for use prior to entering the shop and masks will be required in accordance with the Covid legislation.
For those not wanting to enter the shop, orders can be placed into car boots whilst customers remain in their vehicles. Just let one of our car park team know when you arrive or call 01206 210383 in advance to arrange a socially distanced collection.
No refunds will be made for uncollected orders. Late collection is at our discretion and will incur an additional payment of £5.
You may collect your order from our shop, please state this when placing your order. Goods not collected within three days after they are available for collection will be disposed of, and the order deemed complete. No refunds can be made for uncollected orders.
All of our deliveries are transported in insulated boxes with ice packs by our courier. We shall have no liability to you for any failure or delay in supply or delivery or for any damage or defect to goods supplied or delivered hereunder that is caused by any event or circumstance beyond our reasonable control (including, without limitation, failure of the carrier, adverse weather conditions, strikes, lockouts and other industrial disputes).
Because of the seasonal nature of some of our produce and limited supply, it is possible that from time to time, we may be unable to fulfil some orders. If your order is for one specific joint or meal item we will let you know as quickly as possible, within one working day of you placing the order, and offer alternative produce or cancellation at your discretion. In the event of us having to cancel, we will make an immediate and full refund of any monies paid.
